Week 4 Emergency Exchanges say what??? 10/15-10/22

Companions: Sister Balero, Sister Herman

So this week was crazy busy. It is crazy here at Sydney. The small town life is so different from where I live. So we started off the week by looking at are area book. Which I now finally understand how to use it. We looked at some people who were interested in joining the church but after knocking and  more knocking no one was answering the door. Then we looked and noticed that the elders previously dropped somebody. So we decided to go over there. Then when we got there a lady answered the door. She then goes on and says that her husband is out of town and wants to find a different church to go to and how she does not like her pastor because they fired the last pastor that she liked because of money. We then explained to her that are church has unpaid ministry. Which she then seem to really like. We then asked her if there is a time we can talk more about are church and she said yes!!! Which means we have a teaching appointment!!!
Then the lesson we had with the part member family went ok. The lesson was supposed to be right after dinner so we had dinner then when over there. When we got there we smelt food and we were like oh no. So let's just say I had two dinners and I was so sick by the end of the night. The lesson as I said went ok the husband who is a member kept trying to speak for her. So its hard to figure out how she is really feeling about accepting the gospel. But I know we will get her to talk eventually.

Then we had some craziness happen and we had to do a emergency transfer so I have a new companion. Sis Herman and she is so fun. She loves to talk to everybody which is something I need to learn how to do better.

The next few days were so fun. We found two new people to teach and actually handed one of them a book of Mormon.

Then yesterday was so fun. I think i am really going to like this ward. Yesterday was the first time going to Church in this ward .The ward is so tiny compared to my home ward. If we loose one or two families I think we will be a branch. We then went to dinner at a members home and they made fajitas it was so good. I haven't had fajitas in a long time.

Also I found a new place to live. NOT!!!! There is also a lot of condemned Home's here which is really weird. So let me just say I will not be living downtown. But if I ever moved back here it will be in the country.

Well anyway that is my week. I am having so much fun here. I have to admit I am not use to having stores far away from me but oh well.
I sure love it though.

Parent Letter:
Happy late anniversary!!! This week has been a crazy week. You are probably confuse with the subject line. But don't worry I will explain.

So on Tuesday we knocked on a handful of doors but no one answered then we look at are area book and noticed that the elders dropped somebody which means that they don't visit them anymore. So me and sister Balero decided let's just knock on the door. So we did and a lady answered the door and we talked to her and she said her husband is out of town and she wants some woman to talk to. And we mention that are church we have a class were it is just woman. Then she also mention that she doesn't like her pastor so we mentioned that we have unpaid ministry. Which she seemed very interested. So we have a appointment with her this week.
Then we taught the part member family on Wednesday. We had a appointment set up right after dinner. So we had dinner. Then we went over there and noticed he was grilling you guess it Bratwurst which were also under cooked. So after I ate and was sick which I was sick all night. We taught them about the book of Mormon and how u can use it to get answers from you prayers with faith.

Then the next day was crazy. So me and sister Balero got up and and did are usual morning routine get up exercise plan. Then she headed to the office while I headed to the bedroom. Then all I hear was here saying ohh. So I went in the office and asked her what is up and she said. I just passed out. But it was so fast. I didn't even see it  then I saw here hands and she was shaking. Then we called sister Curtis who is the nurse and told her what had happened. She then asked me questions about how she looked and stuff and  she looked fine except for the shaking. Then she told us to call her doctor and set a appointment for today.  Which we did right when they were open. Then I had to drive for two hours which I haven't driven since I been home. To her doctors appointment. So when we got there I waited about a hour and a half for her to come out. They took a whole bunch of test and stuff. Then when she got done with her appointment. We called sister Curtis again and she told her about what had happened at the doctors and said she will have the results tomorrow.  So sister Curtis was like stay where you are. I am calling sister Welch and see if u can stay at the mission home. So she called and we headed about another 2 hours to the mission home. We then stayed there that night. Then the next day we called the doctors to get the results and they came back normal. Which they shouldn't have. They hoped she had anemia which she could just get a blood transfusion. But it wasn't. So president decided that it will be best if we do a emergency transfer. So that sister Balero was closer to her doctor.

So guess what I have a new companion. Her name is Sister Hermann and she is so fun. She loves to talk and to just have fun. She is from Utah and she is great.

If u were to get me a gift card. It will be really nice if it was from Walmart because we do most of are shopping there. What has brought me the most joy about my mission is finding new people to teach. The smile we get after of trying to knock on so many doors with no answer then we randomly have one who wants to learn is the best feeling.

Something that is hard is when members feed us .They keep offering us more food and I have to eat more.
Then if u can send the pro active soon that will be great I am running low. I love you guys so much

Week 3 Land of the Corn 09/26-10/14

Companion: Sister Balero

Well guys I am in OHIO!!! This has been a busy two weeks so I will start off by writing out my last week at the MTC. Then I Will talk about OHIO. Well I am going to Miss my little trio I had. We had a lot of fun laughing. Then I am also going to miss my District we almost always did gym time together. Last Thursday we played a fun Basketball game and I made one basket. Go me!! Of Course I lost but I am giving myself credit for actually making one basket. Then also on Thursday me and My companions were describing are selves as animals so apparently I am a caterpillar, mouse, angel fish, tiger shark, Jaguar,Mercat, baby blue bird (not a adult just a baby) Reindeer, Pug, and Lizard. So I believe I have almost every type of animal.

On Friday in class we were divided up into groups doing some role playing outside and when we got done Sister Hulse asked If me and Sister Hall saw Elder Holland and we were like No What did u Say and she was like yes Elder Holland. At first we thought that she was kidding around with us being the jokester that she is but even my teacher sister Right saw him. I am so Upset that I did not see him. But I guess he walks around quit often my teacher says oh well.

Then Saturday was are last day of class it was a very emotional sad and happy day. As a  class we read 3 Nephi 17 and I encourage you to read it. It is such a powerful chapter about how Jesus encourages the people and loves the children and heals the sick. Wow so powerful the spirit was so strong. Then we also took a district email and a picture of just us four (me, companions, and Sister Right). I am sure going to miss her. I have learned a lot from her. Then after lunch we had class with Brother Ouzt and of course the elders teased him like they always do. The elders thought it would be a fun idea to give him a gift but that gift consisted of a Nike Box, box of Tissues, For the Strength of Youth, a Missionary handbook with some pages highlighted. Then we all wrote notes on the cardboard box. Then we took a really funny selfie together.

Then On Sunday it was are last Sunday and last time we will see the whole district. It was also fast and Testimony meeting. It was really neat everybody in the district went and bare there testimony. It was really neat hearing everyone's experiences at the MTC. Then after testimony meeting we had a district Council and we all just basically shared how the MTC affected us. I basically was crying. I shared about how us sisters prayed for each of the elders one night because we knew each one of them needed something.  Then the next day we saw are prayers answered. THE POWER OF PRAYER IS AMAZING!!! Then after class we went to the Sunday Night Devotional. Sister Hall played the piano at the Devotional for the musical number and she did AMAZING. She played a song that she acturally wrote I am not kidding it was beautiful.

OHIO
Well guys Last Monday I got up at 4:30 in the Morning did my last minute packing. Headed on  bus then two train stations. Then to the airport. When we got to the airport I was afraid that on of my suitcases were overweight. because I had to put all of my liquid items in one suit case because I needed them for the Mission Home. So as I was in line for bag check I was thinking of things I could move. When it was my turn I weighed the one I knew that would be lighter first which was 47 pounds. Then I put my other one on the scale and it was 49!!! I am so grateful that it was. I did not want to pay $100. Then once we got settled in at the airport I bought some breakfast. Then called my PARENTS. I was so happy to hear there voice. I was worried that I would not be able to call them because I had a hard time figuring out how to use my phone card. But once I read all the directions I was able to talked to them for like 20 minutes. Then once we got on the plane I realized I was sitting in between to of the elders. let me just say Awkward.  Then when we got to the airport we walked over to Baggage claim and there was my mission president and his wife and a few of the other missionaries. I know a lot of people were asking about who the other sister was in the picture I bet my mom sent out. So her name is Sister Fox. She was on her mission I do not know where she was serving and she got sick and had to go home and now she is coming back. That is all I really know about here. Once we loaded all of are stuff to the trailer we all hopped into a van and headed over to this park where President and Sister Welch talked about the history of this park. Then after that we played a little scavenger Hunt. After the park we headed to the mission home where we had Cafe Rio. After Cafe Rio we had Ohio Signature Ice Cream and it was really good. Then we did some introductions and I had my interview with my Mission President. After that I went to bed.

The next morning I got up got ready headed downstairs for breakfast. Then we went to a church building had so more introduction stuff and then I met my companion!!! My Companion is Sister Balero and she is pretty cool. She is from Washington and been out for like a Year. Once I met my companion we grabbed my stuff and headed to our car. We then drove a hour and a half to get to SYDNEY OHIO. It is literally the LAND OF CORN. No joke everywhere you look there is corn.  We are both Doubled in Which means this is a new area for both of us. So once we got to the apartment there was no food. So of course we went to the grocery store and got grocerys. Then later that night we called the Bishop of are new ward and headed to his house to talk about members and get to know his family. Seriously his wife is the sweetest best person in the ward. She asked us if we went shopping and we said we got the basics and she was like no Sisters you need more then the basics so she took us to her basement and chucked a whole bunch of food, toilet paper, soap, everything in a bag. Then after that we went to a few families homes.

So we are now teaching a part member family and the wife who is not a member wants to be baptize which is so cool. All she needs is the lessons.

Then this weekend was General Conference. WoW a lot of changes. First two hour church is going to be really amazing. I love how they are focusing it on Families and spending more time with your family on Sunday. Then they announced 12 New temples which is so amazing the church is growing so fast.Well that sums up the past two weeks!!

Week 2 Finally 9/18/18-9/25/18

This week went by so fast I can not believe it is already Tuesday. I can't believe in a week from today I will be in Ohio. Ahh that seems crazy. It seems like yesterday I arrives but  now I have to start packing this week to leave.  Wow that seems crazy.   Well  earlier today me and my district went to the temple and it was such a great experience the spirit was so strong. I Cant believe that will be the last time going to the temple in a while. This week was a busy one. Let me just begin with Tuesday night. So are P days end at 6:00 here so after P day you go back and put your dress clothes back on and then we hear a devotional from somebody. Well this devotional was not from just anybody is from Elder Anderson!!! It was actullay pretty amazing one of my companions had to go to the information desk for something and as we are walking to the front desk we saw him walking in the building. Oh course me and my companions were so shocked to see him we just stayed were we were at until he left but wow that was the closest I have ever been to a Apostle. His devotional was really amazing he talked about temples and how spiritual they are.

It has been really fun as a district we have tried to do are excercise time togther. So this past week we have been playing can Jam which is a really fun game with a frisbe. Then we also played four square it is a lot of fun. It is quit fun to run and jump. verses sitting down all day in classes.

Most days here at the MTC the food is pretty good but this week for some reason we had a few days were the whole day was a bad food day. It was not just one meal but  the whole day. The one thing I have really loved to eat here was the Friday night Pizza night and the chicken but besides that the food here is OK. I have to thank my wonderful parents for this one because my parents send me a email last week asking if I NEED anything and of course I said DR. PEPPER even though I really do not need it. Well to my surprise my parents not only send me a little Doctor Pepper but a whole 12 pack. So of course thru out the week I have been helping myself with Dr. Pepper. But do not worry I am not consuming all that Dr. pepper on my own. One of my Companions also loves Dr. Pepper so of course i have been sharing. Also everytime me and my companions get food that we want to share we put it on this extra bed that we have in are room and the pile is about half the size of the bed. So do not worry we are not going hungry.

So this Sunday we had to teach not only in one class but two we taught in relief society about the apostasy and restoration. We thought it went pretty good. One thing i got out of that lesson is that Christ is the chief cornerstone and without Christ and the prophets council  the church will not be here or if It was here it will just collapse because we will have no guidance to direct us. Then we also taught in our district council about patience.  We used the talk continue in patience by Dieter F. Ucdorf. That was a really good talk and what I love about the talk is that he mentions that we must be patient with our selves. I am new in the mtc. And It could be stressful. But one thing he taught me is that we can't control the people we are teaching and we can't give up on them just like we can't give up on are selves.

I am excited to see where the rest of my week takes me. I will email  u guys all hopefully next week we will see when my next p day is after today.

Week 1 at the MTC 9/12/18-9/17/18

Well Guys, guess what I survived the first week of the MTC. I admit the first couple days were hard but I guess I survived since I am writing this email.Well let me start off this email by describing my week. first day which was Wednesday  I got up at like 2:30 AM to be at the airport on time. I first got there and was fine. Then when I was going thru security I was balling. Then when I got to Salt Lake My cousin Aundreya picked me up from the airport and took me to the MTC. It was quite stressful and overwhelming at first with having a whole bunch of papers thrown at me. Then the next day we just had class and more paperwork. Then Friday we had are first service project and me and one of my companions had vacuums that look like we where in the Ghost busters movie it was really funny. Then guess what I also saw Noelia. It was so cool and kind of caught me by surprise. She was working in the cafeteria and I was getting food I so wish that we were able to get food but she was working and we are not allowed to take pictures by the cafeteria anyways. One thing we learned through out the MTC is that when you are teaching someone the gospel. It is more important to find out the person you are teachings needs. Verses just throwing them gospel. You have to teach them what they need to hear and what they need in there lives or they will not even bother to listen. Well I got to go my laundry just got done.
